Taj Mahal remains one of the biggest tourist attractions - Financial Express

New Delhi: Taj Mahal, the 17th century monument of love in Agra, has proved to be one of the largest tourist attractions in the country once again, earning Rs 20 crore through entrance fee last year. Out of the total Rs 87 crore earned by the Archaeological Survey of India last year through entrance fee at ticketed monuments across the country, the Taj alone earned Rs 20 crore. The earnings by Taj are up by more than 15 per cent in the year ended March 2011. While the Taj earned Rs 14.36 crore in 2008-09, it got Rs 17.24 crore in 2009-10 and Rs 19.89 crore in 2010-11.
