Samsung launches three local apps

SAMSUNG said yesterday it had added three local software applications (apps) to its Samsung Apps Store. The company has added MXit Mobile chat, DStv Mobile Decoder and Pricecheck.co.za, an online shopping portal that allows users to compare prices. All the applications are available on Samsung Android devices. Growing numbers of companies, including Samsung, are adding local apps to further stimulate the adoption of smartphones and their use. Those companies are also providing a platform for local software engineers to develop applications.
