Anna Karenina with an English accent

By Andrusenko Yelena , 29.09.2011, 17:58 , British film director Joe Wright has started shooting Anna Karenina. The new film version of Leo Tolstoy’s novel will come out in 2012.“This is a promising and exciting event and a great challenge to me,” says British and Hollywood star Keira Knightley who plays the part of Anna in Joe Wright’s film. Now the actress, whom many people know from action and adventure films, should become a 19th century Russian noble woman. Keira Knightley specially studied Russian history of that period so as to understand her role better. In the eyes of the high Russian society of that time, Anna Karenina is a fallen woman who has left her high-ranking ministry official husband and abandoned her little son so as to openly join her lover, young army officer Vronsky. However, unable to overcome her internal discord, she commits suicide by jumping under a train. Tags: Leo Tolstoy, film making,Commentary,Culture,Russia,World, Читать далее, Source: Voice of Russia.
