Science fiction takes a step closer to reality as contact lenses that project information onto the wearer’s retina near production. The latest development of a project that has involved researchers from the University of Washington and Aalto University in Finland demonstrates a contact lens embedded with a tiny LED that can light up when a wireless signal is sent to it. A paper that appeared in the Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering demonstrated the latest findings from a research team that has worked on the concept for many years.
