Kevin Tripp, The Oscars are designed to recognize good drama and comedy. But this year, all the plot twists are taking place behind the scenes. Since Tuesday, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has effectively fired its new Oscar producer. Oscar’s host Eddie Murphy quit in solidarity and then found an Oscar winning-producer to clean up the whole mess. The drama started last weekend, when newly hired Oscar producer, Brett Ratner, the director of the currently released Tower Heist, was at a screening of his new movie and made an inappropriate comment, a gay slur in front of the crowd.
