CAIRO: The Bahrain Movenpick Hotel has been awarded the Green Globe certification. It is the first time that a hotel in the Kingdom has been awarded this major certification. Green Globe audits hotels for over 350 sustainability factors for environment, culture, health and safety. “Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East have been extremely diligent moving through the process of certification and independent auditing throughout 2011,” said Green Globe CEO Guido Bauer. “I believe that we will soon see more than twenty Mövenpick properties in this region certified Green Globe, which is a truly outstanding achievement.” Movenpick operates upscale international hotels in 25 countries.
