Bolivia: Difficult Infrastructure - Great Opportunities

Haches and Schindler is member of the Don limon Group - it  was  founded
in 2010 by Rolando Haches - Bolivian and the Schindler Family - owner of Don Limon. The company focus on Brazil nuts and other products from the Amazonian Area.During a business trip last week Rolando Haches and Andreas Schindler faced a country with difficult logistic situation but great export opportunities.
"Bolivia is really far away from the markets," says Mr. Schindler, "every container to Europe or the USA is a challenge. The products – nuts, Lemons and Amazonian specialities – are very valuable and there are only few people focusing on the distribution of their products".
Haches and Schindler has clear vision and mission to bring these products to market. In close partnership with the producer, packer and some public organization the nuts are shipped to Europe. "We saw poverty in rural areas, however we see happiness and hope in the future of the people. We know that there are some economic activities that have to be explored and exploited to contribute with better incomes for the rural families. Knowing this we are interested in developing the Brazil nut market to get better prices for the small farmers (collectors)". Mr Haches who has been living in
Germany for more than 5 years and is an expert in the cooperation with European retailers, says: “We do this business because we have fun visiting the communities in the forest and we expect that their children which are happy now would have access to better education, better health services, better food in the future".  How people can do this?  "We want to touch the hearts of the consumers of developed countries and explain them that to pay an increased price in 0.20 EUR/Kg here in Europe, (considering that in one day a rural family in Bolivia would collect 10kgs of raw material of goods for export), it would represent to generation of an additional 2 EUR per day (20 Bolivianos) which is enough to buy a day's food for a complete
rural family in .Bolivia" "So with small increased price, customers and consumers can help to improve the living conditions for small collectors. Paying well for the product, will contribute to rural families to have access to food, medicine, and school material. And the best: this will help to protect the rain forest in the region”.Andreas Schindler, Pilz Schindler GmbH, Tel.: +49 (0)40 - 3095499-45, Handy: +49 (0)171 8583 211, Fax: +49 (0)40 - 3095499-60, Web: www.don-limon.de www.pilz-schindler.deBolivia: Difficult infrastructure – great opportunities
