Incredible India calender features Sikkim's Gurudongmar Lake


Incredible India campaign logoSensual natural beauty of Gurudongmar Lake of Sikkim has become a part of Incredible India Promotional Calendar 2012. Union Tourism Minister, Subodh Kant Sahai released Incredible India Promotional Calendar 2012 in New Delhi on December 14, 2011. Speaking on the occasion Sahai said the Calendar projects India’s cultural diversity by showcasing the rich architectural heritage of the country, its natural beauty and the multitude of faiths, through various tourist destinations in the country. The Minister expressed the hope that the calendar will play an important role in promoting tourism in the country. “Our aim is to have more than 11 million foreign tourists in the next five years and for this we are finalising plan to launch an aggressive campaign abroad. We will be opening representative offices in about 12 countries soon,” Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai said after releasing the promotional calendar. Each leaf of the calendar carries a border depicting the traditional fabric of the represented States alongwith a brief descriptive. The 12 page calendar depicts Taj Mahal, the back waters of Kerala, Lotus Temple of Delhi, Golden Temple, Mahabodhi tree of Bodhgaya, Tso-Moriri Lake of Ladakh, Kedarnath Temple, Victoria Memorial, Hampi  ruins,  Jaisalmer  fort  and   the  National  animal  -  Tiger  along  with Gurudongmar Lake of Sikkim. The promotional calendars of the Ministry of Tourism are widely distributed in India and Overseas, with the objective of promoting the tourism destinations and products of the country. They are sent to the trade and media in India and Overseas, Foreign Missions in India and Indian Missions Overseas, India tourism Offices in India and Overseas. Sikkim is gradually becoming a favorite destination for Indian and foreign tourists.
