By Kruglova Lidia: Russia has created a new natural reserve “Sestroretskoe Boloto” in St. Petersburg. This is the largest marshy land in Europe that covers an area of 1 900 hectares. The reserve plays an important role in preserving the bird population in the north of the continent. The “Sestroretskoe Boloto” is a unique area that has preserved its nature. It has never been subjected to draining. Most importantly, the natural reserve is preserved within the bounds of a large city, says the Tatyana Kovaleva, the head of the natural reserves directorate of the St. Petersburg-City government.Tags: Sestroretskoe Boloto, nature reserves, Commentary, Russia, Society, Читать далее, Source: Voice of Russia
