Navami also known as Sri Ram Navami is a Hindu festival, which marks the birth of Lord Ram, who according to legend, rid the world of the demon Ravan - the symbol of evil and is one of the most important festivals of the Vaishnava sect of Hindus. The festival falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra in the Hinducalendar.
