Our focus in particular is on the Metropolitan Opera where this season the constellation of opera stars from the former Soviet Union is particularly bright: Anna Netrebko’s visage adorns the mass promotional brochures. Earlier this month she performed the title role in Anna Bolena alongside with Ildar Abdrazakov and Ekaterina Gubanova. Also in February Dmitri Hvorostovsky appear in “Ernani”.
