The Zenit-3SL Russian-Ukrainian booster with the Intelsat-19 communications satellite has blasted off from the Odyssey floating platform in the Pacific as part of the Sea Launch project. Intelsat-19 was designed by the Space Systems Loral Company on request from the Intelsat global satellite operator. The Sea Launch international consortium was set up back in 1995.
