By Kudashkina Ekaterina, So, what are the prospects for the improvement of the security situation in Yemen and what is the role played by the Islamist parties in yet another Arab Spring country which Yemen obviously is?I think one of the things that needs to be taken into consideration is perhaps the role of Western and regional actors because we have to remember that given the internal politics of Yemen, you know, that Sunni separatists in the south have that whole Saudi Arabian connection, the North has the whole Iranian connection with the whole rhetoric building up on Iran. And the links within Iran – Syria and obviously the Shia’s in the North as well as very clearly what the US is sort of in a sense building up on the rhetoric, the way Israel is sort of building up on the attacks on the nuclear reactors – it would be very, very interesting to see where that goes.
