By Andrey Fedyashin, Two days before Queen Elizabeth II launches the London Olympics 2012 on July 27, the events unfolding in the background of the Games are as dramatic, amazing, unbelievable, and as pure fun to watch as the Games themselves. Trains are running faster, hotels have been booked months ahead, and London has outdone Beijing 2008 in the number of presidents and prime ministers coming for the Games. Though London seems to be ready for the biggest show in the Olympic Games history, and everyone hopes that it will run as smoothly as possible, the government is still trying to stave off any possibility of hiccups large and small.Even the Eurotunnel trains are now running faster than usual to meet soaring demand for travel into London. The operator of the Channel Tunnel and Le Shuttle car and coach train says they are now doing 100 mph rather than 87 mph. The speed-up is reducing the crossing time from 35 minutes to half an hour.
