10.11.2011, 15:58, The “Christ portant la croix” (Carrying Of The Cross) painting by the 17th century artist Nicolas Tournier has been returned to France after London’s Weiss Gallery had tried to auction off the lost masterpiece.The 7.2 by 3.96ft canvas worth 675,000 euro was brought to a Paris auction when the French culture ministry confirmed that it was stolen from a chapel in Toulouse in 1818.
