By Sobolevskaya Olga, A wave of suicide reports has rolled over the Russian media. It’s not that the number of teenage suicides has surged, experts say. Rather, society is now taking each separate case in cross hairs, trying to analyze the reasons behind it, while social scientists mull the ways of curbing this death wave. Teenage suicides, the aggression that school children direct against themselves is something many countries around the world, such as the US, China, Hungary, Finland, Lithuania, Russia, are all too familiar with. According to UNICEF, Russia’s annual suicide ratio stands at 30 cases per hundred thousand people. Only a few countries like China are ahead in these figures.
