Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun is among the list of 32 probables to be selected for the Under-14 team by the Mumbai Cricket Association. Arjun, son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, had slammed the first century of his career in the MCA's Under-14 selection trials held at the Cross Maidan in Mumbai on May 26. He played for Khar centre and he was only century maker in the tournament. He scored that century against Goregaon centre in the semi-finals by smashing 14 boundaries and a six in his innings of 124.
Arjun is an all-round talent and has proved himself as a hard hitting batsman and medium fast bowler. The significant difference between Sachin and his son is that Arjun bats and bowls with left hand. These 32 players have been asked to report in off season camp at MCA’s practice facility at Bandra-Kurla complex on 3rd July at 2 pm. Arjun looks a certainty in Mumbai U-14 team with his maturity and performance at the age of 12. Mumbai’s U-14 team will be selected out of these 32 players which will participate in West Zone U/14 championships. The West Zone U-14 tournament is a yearly event being played among teams from Mumbai, Maharashtra, Saurashtra, Gujrat and Baroda. West Zone has started this tournament with a motive to groom the school cricketers. Source: News BulletImage: photobucket.com
