Cristiano Ronaldo tipped for ownership role at Spanish club

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could be involved in an ambitious takeover of a Spanish club fighting for promotion to La Liga, GOAL reports, citing Marca.

Ronaldo could become involved in the Saudi takeover of Almeria, who have been purchased by an investment group led by Mohamed Al-Khereiji. The relationship between the new owner and Ronaldo is said to be closer after he facilitated the former Real Madrid star's move to Al-Nassr in 2022.

Ronaldo could buy shares in the investment group that has completed the takeover and is linked to media, advertising and sport. The report states it is likely he would then be involved in Almeria in the future. The club are currently battling to win promotion back to La Liga in the final weeks of the season.

Ronaldo has been building a business empire away from football, including investments in hotels, fashion, technology and health. He also has a stake in water brand URSU.Ronaldo is likely to feature in Al-Nassr's final two matches of the Saudi Pro League season, against Al-Khaleej and Al-Fateh, though did miss Friday's 1-1 draw with Al-Taawoun Source Article

Lady Gagas success secret is BikramYoga?

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s private teacher has attributed her achievement to practicing Bikram Yoga. Tricia Donegan, a former college soccer player, met the singer before she got famous. “Lady Gaga is something very special, because she is a woman of service,” the Daily Mail quoted him as telling The New York Times Insider. “She uses her talent to make this world better, and that’s because she practices yoga. “She is blessed that she has talent, but what’s special about her is that she’s going to change the world,” he said. ‘Bikram’ is based on the traditional yoga techniques carried out in sweltering temperatures of 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The sport, popularised in the Seventies by guru Bikram Choudhury, is hard work and normally consists of a 90-minute session in sauna-like temperatures where 26 different postures are carried out. The 25-year-old is said to have started Bikram Yoga back in New York in 2004 before she was famous. Update2: At least 75 dead in Egypt football violence

By Manar Ammar, CAIRO: The Egyptian ministry of health in the Egypt city of Port Said has reported at least 75 deaths and hundreds of injuries as a result of violence following a football match on Wednesday. Earlier in the evening, the head of the Port Said General Hospital Hassan al-Essnawy said that at least 53 people have died and over 50 others are injured following clashes that erupted after the end of a football match between Egypt’s al-Ahly club and al-Masry in the city. Essnawy told al-Ahly’s official television channel the death toll, while the ministry of health has continued to report the number rising. Essnawy said the main cause of death was a smashed skull and most of the dead are “young men.” Ahly players said that police and armed forces were nowhere to be seen during or after the clashes and rumors were that the al-Masry fans, who initiated the attack after the match, were allegedly preventing the ambulances from entering the stadium for an hour and half. Some players were also injured during the attack. Ahly TV showed split screen footage of the clashes beginning and riot police, clad with shields, standing in a tunnel immobile and not moving to intervene. A makeshift medical unit was established in the Ahly locker room, where the fans and players took shelter from the attack. The head of the Ahly club said the locker room turned into a morgue where people were dying as a result of a lack of medical assistance. Source: Bikya Masr

'The Matrix' style automatic learning to soon become reality

London, Dec 10 (ANI): Learning a new skill in the future might involve nothing more than sitting in front of a computer screen and waiting for it to upload, according to scientists.  Scientists at Boston University and ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan, have said that "downloading" new skills into the brains just like characters on 'The Matrix' is set to become a reality.  The researchers have been studying how a functional magnetic resonance machine (FMRI) can "induce" knowledge in someone through their visual cortex by sending signals that change their brain activity pattern. Researchers at Baylor College of Medicine found recently that if a molecule called PKR is inhibited, it leads to brain activity thatbrain-chip

leads to the formation of long-term memories in the adult brain. What's more is that this molecule can be artificially blocked, leading to the possibility of a "memory-enhancing drug".  "It is indeed quite amazing that we can also enhance both memory and brain activity with a drug that specifically targets PKR," the Daily Mail quoted Mauro Costa-Mattioli from Baylor as saying.  "Our identity and uniqueness is made up of our memories. This molecule could hold the key to how we can keep our memories longer, but also how we create new ones, " he saidFeed Your Brain

Nomedication is needed for the process, called Decoded Neurofeedback, or "DecNef", and the subject doesn't even have to be awake, he or she simply has their brain activity changed to a "target" pattern, which could be anything from that of a star footballer to a master chess player.  "Adult early visual areas are sufficiently plastic to cause visual perceptual learning," Takeo Watanabe, lead author from the University of Boston, said. 'Read Full: The Matrix' style automatic learning to soon become reality

Dolphins speak like humans: study

China: Dolphins do not whistle  as  previously  thought.  Instead,  they  "talk"

like humans,  according to a new study. Dolphins use their noses to produce a different kind of tonal sound, just like humans do when speaking, said Peter Madsen, the lead author of the study published in Royal Society Biology Letters. Madsen studied how dolphins communicate by digitizing recordings made in 1977 of a 12-year-old male dolphin, which was made to breathe a mixture of helium and oxygen called heliox. Scientists said humans breathing in a heliox sound like Donald Duck. According to Livescience.com, the heliox was meant  to mimic conditions during  a  deep

dive since it causes a shift up in frequency. When breathing in heliox , the dolphin, however, continued to make the same sounds with the same frequency. "That means that dolphins do not actually whistle, but make sound by making connective tissue in the nose vibrate at the frequency they wish to produce by adjusting the muscular tension and air flow over the tissue," Madsen said, "This is the same way that we humans make sound with our vocal cords to speak." But "It does not mean that they talk like humans, only that they communicate with sound made in the same way,"said Madsen. Dolphins make actual whistlings in performances when they are trained, just like humans sometimes whistle for fun.Read Full: Dolphins speak like humans: study - China.org.cn

FIFA Loses Transparency

A corruption watchdog that was advising Fifa after a series of bribery and corruption scandals, has cut its ties with world football's governing body. An official with Transparency International (TI) said two of its key recommendations had been ignored. TI said Fifa paying an expert to oversee major reforms to how it is run would jeopardise his independence. The expert, Mark Pieth,  said  he  would  not  re-examine  old

Blake Lively shooting a scene for her upcoming film "Savages"
Starpulse: Are all you Gossip Girl fans ready for tonight's premiere? We are, and in anticipation of the season five premiere we wanted to spotlight one of its most beautiful and talented rising stars Blake Lively. Twenty-four year old actress Blake Lively seems like she has it all- the good looks, the booming career and the hot boyfriend, Leonardo DiCaprio. Who else is jealous? Born and raised in Los Angeles, Blake’s family was in the entertainment business which meant she was destined to catch the acting bug. Blake has said about her family, “My whole family's been in the business. My whole family is crazy.” Apparently they are crazy talented. Her father Ernie Lively is an actor and director and her mother Elaine is a talent manager. In 2005, Blake landed her first big role in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants playing a California teenage soccer star and coincidently, her father was played by her real life father. But it wasn’t until 2007 when she landed the biggest role of her career as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. Based on the popular young adult novel series, the show has a cult following with teenagers and adults alike. (We admit that we never miss an episode of Gossip Girl).
