I am not ready for films yet: Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor says that being a mother is her first priority and films will have to wait
Gorgeous actress Karisma Kapoor s taking a break from films, but plenty of endorsements are keeping her busy. “For me family comes first and I have made a conscious decision to give them more time. Work will come second, which is also why I have taken up more endorsements. That way, I get to spend more time with the kids as well,” she says. She adds that it will take quite some time for her to come back to the silver screen. “Films take up such a huge portion of your time and I don’t think I’m ready for such a commitment. I don’t want to leave my kids for such long periods, so maybe a year or two and then if something interesting comes up I will work on it,” she explains. Talking about her kids, the “Master Of Multitasking” (mom) as she calls herself, says that she gives them the freedom to choose whatever they want to do. “I never influence them. I want them to choose whatever they want.” Talking about the Kapoor khandaan, she says, “We were brought up with values that stressed on family coming first. Which is why despite our busy schedules, we (Kareena as well) take time out to meet each other. It can be lunch, dinner or something as small as watching TV together,” she says. About the latest addition to the family, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma’s brother-in-law, she says, “He isn’t just my brother-in-law. We go a long way beyond that. We are colleagues and friends first. We always have so much fun with each other, we can talk about anything under the sun and we share almost everything that happens in our lives.”Source: The Asian AgeImage: https://upload.wikimedia.org/

Emraan Hashmi is a darling: Amyra Dastur

Actress Amyra Dastur is simple, sociable and dreamy. The happy-go-lucky girl, who will be seen in Bhatt camps’ Emraan Hashmi-starrer Mr. X, reveals that before this project she was quite apprehensive about being stereotyped as a desi damsel because of Isaaq. “My debut flick Isaaq didn’t do well at the box office at all. On one end, it was panned in a major way but on the other, surprisingly, I received tons of appreciation from people who liked my performance. So that was the saving grace. However, after Isaaq, I started thinking that people will only offer me the role of a desi or village girl and I will soon be a victim of stereotyping. I am extremely thankful that nothing of the sort happened. Going from playing a village damsel in my first film to a high-end under-cover detective in my second is like a dream come true for me,” the actress reveals. She goes on to add that Mukesh Bhatt had approached her out of the blue for this movie. “I got a call from Mukesh ji from nowhere and he told me to come in to his office. He also informed me that he had been thinking about starting a project and had a feeling that they would need an actress just like me. After meeting him and Mahesh Bhatt saab, I got to know that they were not looking for someone who had got a pretty face but also someone who could act and was physically fit. However, they clearly told me that nothing was confirmed until the movie’s director Vikram (Bhatt) gave his nod. So, I had to meet the whole Bhatt khandaan before I got a final confirmation signal,” Amrya laughs. Talking about her role in Mr. X, she shares, “I am playing the role of a girl called Siya Verma, who has had a troubled life which the audience will get to see as the story unfolds in the latter part of the movie. She is an undercover detective and doesn’t trust men. Her love interest in the movie is Emraan who somehow gets into a big accident. Their life comes to a point where Siya’s sole aim is to hunt down Emraan’s character and put him to rest. She has a very cold personality as opposed to my real self but it was cool to play her as I got to do stunts and fights. As I was told that there will be a lot of running sequences involved throughout the movie, I did Pilates, weight training and yoga to prepare for the role,” Putting forth her initial reservations and reactions towards working with co-star Emraan Hashmi aka “Kissing King of Bollywood”, Amrya shares, “As soon as I heard Bhatt saab and Vikram (Bhatt) telling me that Emraan is going to be my co-star, the initial questions that I asked them were, ‘Are there going to be any kissing or intimate scenes? And was this a U/A or an A movie?’ Because I wasn’t sure if I’ll be comfortable doing intimate scenes. I told them clearly that I was totally not in favour of them also because I stay with my parents and family and I don’t think they would be comfortable with it either. Everyone just laughed and informed me that there weren’t going to be any intimate scenes and it was a U/A movie. As for kissing scenes, there were four in totality out of which two were with Emraan and in the rest I would be kissing no one. I just had to enact them and in the movie it would be shown as if I was kissing Mr. X (who is invisible). They also asked me if I’d be willing to wear a bikini and I told them that I won’t. However, I told them that I could wear a swimming costume instead. So they were fine.” Besides all of this, how was working with Emraan? “He is a darling in real life. I adore his sense of humour and he never once made me feel like he was a superstar and I needed to act like a junior or something. He is a completely normal guy with no airs about him,” she affirms. I'm a big Rajinikanth fan, says Shah Rukh Khan!

Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan Sunday told he is such a big fan of Rajinikanth that he decided to attend the audio launch of his movie "Kochadaiiyaan". "I came here for three reasons. Firstly, like all of you, I am a big Rajinikanth fan," Shah Rukh said journalists at the launch. Reminiscing his earlier days, SRK told that many years ago when he landed in Mumbai, he went to see the shooting of a Hindi film starring Rajinikanth and learned an important lesson after observing the southern megastar. "I saw from far away that he was standing in front of a big mirror and practising throwing cigarette in his mouth. There were a lot of actors minding their own business, but Rajini sir kept on practising. He was getting it right like he does every time in the film, but he kept practising. That's one of my learning lessons of my life because someone of his talent and stature keeps on working so hard," he told. The second main reason is friendship, told SRK. "I was in need of a lot of help during the making of 'Ra One', and I would like to thank Rajini sir, Soundarya and Lata ma'am for helping me out overnight. I have come as a friend because whenever I came to Chennai or Tamil Nadu, all of you have given me so much of love," he further added. Talking about the third reason, SRK said: "I came here as a seeker of knowledge because the films made here actually make our country the proudest. The movies by K. Balachander sir, Shankar sir and so many others have taught so much in cinema." Shah Rukh, who recently paid tribute to Rajinikanth through the song "Lungi Dance" in "Chennai Express", crooned a few lines of the song on stage for the megastar. The film has been directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya. SRK told he is thrilled about "Kochadaiiyaan" as it has been made using motion capture photo-realistic technology. "I was extremely excited when four years ago Soundarya talked about her ambitious project because this is going to change cinema in this country. I believe this technology is going to be one of the finest steps in Indian film industry," he told. Also starring Jackie Shroff, Shobana, R. Sarath Kumar, Aadi Pinisetty, Nasser and Rukmini, "Kochadaiiyaan" will release April 11 worldwide. Source: Article

Interview with Actress Deepika Padukone

The actress who pumped your Heartbeat always from Om Shanti Om till the latest Race 2. The Actress who also says she might be 'Sexy' but not a 'Seductress'. The actress who is a Star and she still remains Down-To-Earth, Speaking about her Journey, Lifestyle, Link-Up's, Controversies.. Actress Deepika Padukone goes one-on-one with Faisal Saif. But you were always related to the word 'Sexy'.. I don’t believe in being in-your-face sexy. It is more of an attitude and not about clothes. But the film took it a step further and called for the character to be a sexy seductress. The entire body language had to spell it out. And as I said earlier, it’s nothing like the real me. I may be sexy, but I’m no seductress. And your character's in Race 2, Raam Leela, Chennai Express can be considered as Glamorous ones? But all my roles are so different from each other that it’s really interesting to be busy with work. Do you enjoy being in the latest bandwagon of 100 Crore Club? More than the box-office records or business figures of the film, It is the experience of shooting that I cherish. You will be shooting your upcoming film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' in Kashmir? I have never shot in Kashmir before. I have heard so much about the place and seen its beauty only through Bollywood films. I am really looking forward to filming in the Valley. It is my first visit. It’s great that our filmmakers are rediscovering Kashmir. You were from Anupam Kher acting school, What was your first reaction when you faced the camera for the first time? I have absolutely no film background. I don't come from a film family and I had never been on a film set until my first film. In a lot of ways, it gave me a little information about what to expect. But at the same time, I think the best education I've had is to actually be on a film set and learn from there. How do you remain so down to earth despite being on the position of a 'Star'? Thank you so much for your compliments, But this because my parents who gave me this up-bringing. I look forward to my father who after gaining so much in life is still very humble and down to earth. He is my inspiration. And how was your journey as of a Down-To-Earth star? The journey was fabulous. Everyone has their Up's and Down's and everyone has to work hard. But for me, It was always a learning lesson on every step of my life. In every film, I think i have learnt something new. And it'll continue to be like that. What is Race 2? Would you tell us something about it and your character? Everyone in Race 2 has a 'Grey Shade'. Everyone wants to win the Race in the film. There's a lot of manipulations involved in each character. I play a character of a seductress called Aleena, Who uses her Looks to achieve whatever she wants. This is something very new to me. I have never played such a character in my career so far. How do you manage to deal with Controversies and Link-Up's around you? I don't react to them at all. I think all these things are a part of my profession. If i am an actress and i am into Limelight, People will definitely talk such things. I don't Focus on these things. I want people to enjoy my work. Source: India-Education

Tusshar may consider fiction shows on TV

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor says he won't mind starting a new trend by doing fiction shows on TV as long as it doesn't interfere with his movie assignments. The mediums of TV and films seem to be converging into one, he feels. "TV always needs films and vice-versa. So, I guess, the marriage (between the two mediums) is getting more intense with shows like this ('Nautanki: The Comedy Theatre') coming on screen," he said and added that he can consider fiction shows. "No body has done that (fiction shows) yet. Let's see, maybe that will also start. If it is interesting and it doesn't come in the way of making films, then maybe I can think about it... maybe in sitcoms like 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' and 'Seinfeld'," he added. Tusshar has now shifted his focus on the small screen, which gave his sister Ekta Kapoor huge success as a producer. Seen as the judge of Colors' comedy show "Nautanki: The Comedy Theatre", which attempts to showcase Broadway theatre, he feels it can help him as an actor. "You need to believe in comedy to enjoy it. So as a judge, even watching will help me. Plus, I will be able to reach out to so many homes through the medium of television." "The spontaneity comes only in theatre and I enjoyed it a lot. Even films have that spontaneity, but then after re-takes it goes out," he added. Son of yesteryear star Jeetendra, Tusshar featured in "Golmaal" movie series and also did not-so-successful films like "Jeena Sirf Merre Liye", "Good Boy, Bad Boy", and "Life Partner". As far mistakes are concerned, the 36-year-old feels that they are park of life. "If I had to change the past, I would still make mistakes. So if I think that if I can go back and not make the same mistakes, then I am sure I will make fresh mistakes. You can't avoid making mistakes because life is such that you can't predict it," he told IANS in an interview. Tusshar doesn't have a fixed strategy regarding his films and likes to just go with the flow. "There is no conscious effort to change. Some people feel if you do different things, it will show versatility and, while others feel that if you stick to one kind of films, you have a set image. But that's others' point of view. I don't go with any of this," he said. Source: Image, Source: News-BulletImage: https://upload.wikimedia.org

Angry Ekta Kapoor’s swear is never work with Kareena in future

Absolutely things are not at all well between Ekta Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The television queen Ekta Kapoor is annoyed with beautiful girl Kareena Kapoor since Bebo has declined her film’s offer without even listening to the story. The movie is “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2”. Ekta is so angry that she wrote in her status about Bebo, calling her “dumb” and “psycho”. In the status message, the name of Bebo’s upcoming film “Heroine” is also mentioned. But again since the heroine backed out of the movie, Sonakshi bagged the offer and now she is going to feature in the film as the leading female. Since the movie casts Emraan Hashmi, Kareena was unwilling to be a part of the film. That Bebo opted out of the film last moment is the reason of Ekta’s grudge against the diva. Ekta is also co-producing with Karan Johar another film which also stars Emraan Hashmi and is to be directed by Akshay Roy.  Now that Kareena has turned down Ekta’s offer, the director has been telling all people that she won’t ever work with the actress in future. Well, that is typically Bollywoodish, where Celebes don’t event take a minute to befriend someone or hate the other! Source: GaramGossips

A new beginning (Interview of preity zinta)

  • Your first film as a producer is scheduled to be released. How does it feel? When I started the film, I was happy to be back in the movie business. Teaming with Prem Soni (director) was also wonderful. He is a friend. Before we started work on the film, I had decided that besides being entertaining, it will have an important message for the audience. I am a happy camper, and am excitedly waiting to see the reaction to my first film. At the same time, there is a part of me which is nervous too. As far as my expectations are concerned, I feel, having put in my best efforts, the final outcome should be good. (Takes a pause) I know I sound very intellectual here, but let me admit that if the film doesn’t work at the box-office, I am going to kill myself and everybody associated with the project. This movie is my first baby, I will be depressed if it crashes. Having said that, I would just take it as an experience. Tomorrow, I can just turn around and say that I atleast tried doing something different. It is like —- first the baby crawls, then it starts walking and finally it runs.
  • For a first-time producer, was there any situation when you thought of giving it all up? Making this film was super challenging. Firstly, both its producer and hero Rhehan Malliek are debutantes and director Prem Soni is just one film old. So this constant pressure itself motivated me to go ahead and complete the film. Had it been very easy, the challenge of making it would be lost.
  • What did you learn while working on this project? When I started shooting for the film, with a  newcomer in the lead, I realised that it was not an easy task. One has to have a lot of patience while working with freshers. In fact at one point of time, I even sent a text message to both Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, thanking them for the immense patience they had shown when I had worked with them in my first film, Dil Se. Rhehan is a good learner but initially he had problems facing the camera. He did not know where to stand or how to move. I recollected my debut days when Shah Rukh would guide me and provide cues on how to face the camera. So later I sent them both a thank you note for being nice to me. As an actress, you get to concentrate only on yourself, but here apart from acting, I was also doing my duty as a producer. I had no time to sit and think about my make up, hair and stardom. Instead, my focus was on guiding Rhehan to give his best.
  • Your production house is called PZNZ Media, after you and your mother Neelu Zinta. Is she also involved in the production? Mom’s input was that she produced a healthy baby like me, so that I could produce a film! (Laughs). Well, she didn’t give any creative inputs as such, but she was always there to support me. She accompanied me to Paris for the film’s entire schedule. She was my chef and cooked amazing food.
  • Tell us about your experience while shooting in Paris. Believe me, it’s a whole new world out there, but thankfully we managed! The problem in Paris is that, the streets are very narrow. So when shooting on a street, the entire road is blocked with all the shooting equipments, creating problems for the pedestrians. Frankly, it is extremely difficult to shoot there and I think we should get a medal for making the film in that country.
  • What was the reaction from the locals? I was surprised that a lot of locals recognised me. In their cute French accent, they would say- “I love Bollywood, I love Bollywood”. They would address me by the names of my characters like Naina from Kal Ho Na Ho or Zara from Veer Zara. I believe, these films did exceptionally well in Paris.
  • Now that promotions have started, tell us more about your film. I would say that Ishkq In Paris is a very contemporary film, set in present times. There is also an emotional connect to it. It also has a message for the audience. In the film, I play an Indian living in Paris, who is a photographer, working in the fashion industry. Before going on floors, in an interview with Screen, you had said that Ishkq In Paris is a low budget film.
  • Would you still say that? Well, I wouldn’t say that now! Actually, I went overboard and spent a lot of money. When I started the film, I was prepared with a budget, to shoot in one of the most expensive cities of the world. But the cold weather there and the constant on-going strikes played spoil sport. We experienced the coldest winter in the 65 years of Europe’s history. Looking back, I would have preferred to make it on a smaller budget.
  • With the weather playing truant, were you happy with the way the film was shot? Yes, we got some brilliant shots. We wanted a winter vibe as a theme in the background. And the cold weather worked in our favour. Paris is very different during winters. There is a certain starkness to Paris when it snows there, the colors are richer, the city has a crispness, all the elements that I wanted for my film. Interestingly, we will see your niece acting in the film. Her role is not very significant in the film. We needed kids for a scene, where they are just running around. Since my niece was in town with her family, I contacted her and she agreed to be a part of the scene.
  • Is it true that Salman Khan is also associated with this film? Salman is my absolute hero. He is the one person who has always been close to my heart. He has supported me and stood by me. His contribution to the film— almost 50 per cent of it — was his, in the form of opinions and suggestions. We have picturised one song on him in Mumbai. He was very co-operative. We would go to his house for lunch. He even attended a music sitting with Sajid-Wajid. I am grateful to him for being there.
  • How would you rate the music of the film? I feel the music has come out extremely well. The music directors have hit a sixer with Ishkq In Paris album. During the sitting, I had told Sajid-Wajid, ‘Do you see these five fingers, I want a fist.’ So they came up with five fantastic numbers, equally distinct from each other. I clearly told them that the part picturised in Paris should reflect the country’s ambience, while the portions shot in India should reflect our music.
  • What will your next production be? I don’t know! Somewhere down the line, I feel as a producer, I am being completely negligent over the fact that I am an actor first. All I’m looking forward to is my film’s release and then shooting for Bhaiyaji Superhit with Sunny Deol. After all the hardwork, I want to be the star on the set, no production problems, no running around for permissions, or cops to deal with. Just me, my make-up, hair, clothes and all the stardom. I want to enjoy being an actress. Apart from Bhaiyaji Superhit, you were to play the role of a gangster in a Tigmanshu Dhulia film. Is it happening? Yes, but I believe in doing one film at a time. Currently my focus is Ishkq In Paris first and thenBhaiyaji Superhit. Source: Screen India

Big B is all praises for Preity Zinta's success after tragic early life!

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is all praises for Preity Zinta's openness and her guts to survive in a "cruel" world without any help. "I have always admired Preity for her drive and guts in a world that can be most cruel to a single girl. But just look at the way she has managed her career, all alone, without any traditional assistance from the industry," Amitabh posted on his blog. "She is frank and painfully honest and outspoken to the 'o', and that is an admirable quality for a girl that had to face some rather tragic and unfortunate events very early in her life." "She put her hand into business, knew nothing about it, but was determined to educate  herself. So she went across to US for a short course in business management at a prestigious college (Harvard Business School) and came back wiser, educated and a
lot more confident and not for a moment keeping too far away from her profession of choice - films!" he further added. The 69-year-old actor has shared screen space with Preity in "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna", "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom" and "The Last Lear". Amitabh was invited by Preity to a party thrown by the French embassy in honour of Isabelle Adjani, who is shooting with the actress for his debut production venture "Ishkq In Paris". "Preity Zinta produces and acts in a film which also has in its cast the beautiful Isabelle Adjani from France. Isabelle is in town for its shoot and Preity invites us for a party at the Sofitel Hotel, hosted by the French Ambassador, to meet the lovely lady. Its a quiet dignified evening, and because I am fond of Preity, I go along for precisely 10 minutes, to wish her and her guest," he wrote.GaramGossips.com - No. 1 Bollywood Information Website: Big B is all praises for Preity Zinta's success af

Playing Nehru is challenging for Dalip Tahil in Bhag Milkha Bhag

After playing a variety of character roles in Bollywood masala movies, Dalip Tahil will be seen as Jawaharlal Nehru in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Bhag Milkha Bhag". He tells the role was a challenge as people have a reference point for that character. "It's a big challenge for me. I am very excited that I am playing the role of India's first prime minister. It's a very significant character in Milkha's life. He is motivating, promoting and giving him a platform to lead India in various sports events," Dalip said. He said he saw documentary footages and read books on Nehru to prepare for the role. "We have got the look right. Pandit Nehru is an important character in the history ofIndia, so it was important to play him right. When you have to play a living character or a person who is dead, people have a reference to that character. So, there is an obligation, responsibility to reflect him right," he further added. The whole experience of working in "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" has been "fantastic" for Dalip and he told, "Rakeysh is a pleasure to work with. The whole production team has been so professional and painstaking about Nehru's way of dressing, the tilt of the cap, his makeup and all. I am very impressed." A known face in Bollywood as well as television, Dalip played key roles in "Darr", "Baazigar", "Ishq" and "Ra.One". He follows his gut feeling while selecting a role. "I don't have an extremely profound theory for selecting roles. I usually go by my gut feeling. When the story is being narrated to me, the character is being described and I feel I can bring something to the character, I do it. I want to do characters which move the story. I don't go by anything else."Source: GaramGossips

Wasn't aiming at a glamorous Bollywood debut: Ilena D'Cruz

Ilena D'Cruz
Making her debut in Bollywood with 'Barfi', Telugu actress Ileana D'Cruz says she did not want a glamorous opening in her first film here. While Bollywood exudes a glamorous mix of dance and song element in a movie, Anurag Basu's 'Barfi' is different as it is a story of a deaf-mute boy, a mentally challenged girl and a normal girl. "In Bollywood it is like there would be little bit of acting to do, look pretty throughout and dance with a handsome in a masala movie. That is what I had in mind and I did not want to get into such a film," Ilena said in an interview. Known down south as a glamorous beauty, Ilena doesn't want that label to continue in the Hindi film industry, but wants author-backed roles and not arm candy parts. "I have been doing south films for six years. And there were lot of offers from Bollywood earlier which did not interest me much. The story line and my role in 'Barfi' is something I really liked a lot. It is different from what I have done so far, hence I chose to do this film. It is all about right time," she said. Releasing on September 14, 'Barfi' is a romantic comedy around three characters. There is Murphy (Ranbir) whom everyone calls Barfi. He is always ready with a prank and cannot speak or hear. Jhilmil (Priyanka) is an autistic girl, while Ilena plays Shruti, who falls in love with Barfi. Ilena had earlier turned down an offer to star opposite actor Salman Khan in 'Wanted', which was a remake of her own south film 'Pokhiri'. She chose to wait for a more challenging role. "When I was offered this role I was flattered as it required me to show my ability as an actor. Anurag told me the story and role...he said he has found his Shruti," Ilena said. "He was sure I was fit for the role. But I was completely taken off guard did not expect a launch with a film like this," she said adding that since 'Barfi' is not a regular Bollywood film, she was worried whether she would be able to do justice with the role. "Considering it's a big film and different, I was like will I be able to pull through this? It required a lot of me. He (Basu) had blind faith in me. He was encouraging...It was flattering...," Ilena said. Source: Indian Express
