Brizzleleo: Victoria Goodyear, 29, who is undergoing treatment for kidney
cancer, was left battered and bruised after two men attacked her and stole the morphine tablets she kept in her handbag. Victoria, from Hull, East Yorks, was walking near her home when two men approached her and threatened her with a knife, punching her in the face when she refused to give them a cigarette. Police are now appealing for assistance in identifying the pair — who made
off with the morphine and medication.Victoria said: "I was walking home when a man on a bike approached me and asked for a cigarette. "I told him no, but he kept asking. Before I knew what was happening, someone had spun me round and I was punched in the face. "I started screaming for help and they started swearing and telling me to shut up. "It was then I saw a knife. I was holding on to my bags but they tried cutting the straps. I just held on while they were attacking me."The men, one white and one Asian, fled with her medication and a packet of morphine she has been prescribed to control pain. Police searched the area after the attack and have scoured hours of CCTV footage. They have questioned one man in connection with the attack.Victoria added: "I'm frightened to go out of the house now. "I was never like this before. I was a happy-go-lucky kind of girl but this has shattered my confidence. Whenever I see a group of people or if I pass someone I don't know, I fear the worst. "It's horrible but I can't shake it off. "My fiancé has to take me to and from work. I really hope the police can catch these people." Detective Inspector Darren Webb, of the city's priority crime team, said: "This was a cowardly attack on an innocent woman, made worse by the fact she is suffering from a serious illness. "Her injuries were only minor but the fear and upset caused will undoubtedly live with her long after the physical wounds have healed. "I would implore anyone who thinks they may know who is responsible for this robbery to contact police as a matter of urgency and help to bring these people to justice.Source: Brizzleleo
